CASE STUDY 1

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) is just like a bundle of all these things:

the water piping system; the electrical lining system; the bicycle; roads and highways; the library; the printing press; the telephone; the airplane; and many more. A career in IT is not a dead-end job; it's a continuous learning and innovating of a lot of things.

In this generation, there are many ways how to make our things, jobs and works easier. Today, there are many changes and inventions made that all of us are using. That’s what we called technology. All forms of technology applied to processing, storing and transmitting information in electronic forms is referred as Information Technology (IT).

“Information Technology (IT) processes, stores and disseminates vocal, pictorial, textural and numerical information by microelectronics based combination of computing and telecommunication. It spans variety of areas such as computer software, information system, computer hardware, programming languages and data controls.” That definition was come from Wikipedia. But if you will be ask what is IT, it will be difficult to define in our own interpretation because it is very broad. IT is very useful and emphasized by many people because of its importance in everyday uses. It helps people to communicate especially in their love ones, can share different thoughts, can express their feelings and opinion, gives entertainment and recreation, and many more. Water Piping System

Information Technology (IT) is just like a water piping system. “Water piping system is made up of pipes and tubes that carry pressurized and treated fresh water to the houses buildings”. It is a continuous flow of water to a specific building inquired to them. As you can see, IT and water piping system have a similar concept in the way that they both give us comfortable and faster services. It also used pipeline. A computer pipeline which is a continuous movement of instruction  to the processor. Without a pipeline computer may takes long period of time to process instruction. Also in water piping system, without pipeline water takes long time to flow in specific house. Water piping system can minimize the work you have to do, just like when you visit a website and search a word, all you have to do is t type it and immediately the information will appear on the monitor.

 Electrical Lining System

Information Technology (IT) is just like an electrical lining system. “Electrical lining system is any circuit of an electric system that converted directly by conductor terminal to other device in series”. IT also has a terminal and an end point which allows appearing in the monitor. Through electrical lining system the electric current can easily and successfully flow in the different houses. Also in IT, it transfers, stores, and process data easily and freely. Electrical lining system gives us energy to give us light, to cook our foods, to wash our clothes, to watch TV, to play games and many more. IT also gives us information to learn more, recreations and to give us an instruction to use all that things.

Bicycle

Information Technology(IT) is just like a bicycle. “Bicycle is a human-powered pedal, pedal-drive, single-track vehicle, having two wheels attach to a frame”. Bicycle is use as means of transportation in many regions. It is also use to deliver or carries things from place to another place. Nowadays, IT is also use to deliver. Just like some fast food chain. All you have to do is to connect with them and just click what foods you want and in just a minute it will be on your doorstep. As the years passed by, bicycle is developing in terms of structure and function. Now, it is not only use for transportation but also a tool for physical exercises, recreation and bicycle racing. IT is also developing every now and then. There are so many new technologies that we are using. Just like from a cellular phone to a smart phone, from Personal Computer (PC) to a Tablet PC, from a vintage television to a flat screen TV.

Roads and Highways

Information Technology (IT) also has a destination just like s roads and highways. “Roads and highways are a thoroughfare, route or way on land between two places, which typically has been paved or otherwise, improved to allow travel by some conveyance”. They are an unending journey. All you have to do is to choose which path you want to travel by. IT is also dead-end destination. You can explore and travel everywhere. You must also be careful in your exploring either in IT or roads and highways because there is a possibility that you meet an accident or a computer virus and addiction. So always be reminded. Always read road sign and follows computer instruction.

Printing Press

Information Technology (IT) is also used for printing just like printing press.” Printing press is a device for applying pressure to an inked surface resting upon a print medium”. It is a machine used for business of providing printed materials such as newspaper, magazine, books and etc. It is very obvious that IT and printing press are similar. IT also produces printouts of what you have written. They are both very useful because they give a good, clean and beautiful output. Unlike in hand writing, it is laborious and inconvenient.

Library

Information Technology is commonly used to give information just like a library.” Library is a collection of sources, resources, and services and the structure in which it is housed”. It is a collection of books. IT is just like an upgraded library in which all you have to do is to sit then click and it will automatically appear. Internet is one of the components of IT. It consists of billions of information you want to gather. Unlike in the library, it will take you too long to research. IT is very useful especially to all students and pupils. They can research words, things, grammars, books, person, places and many more just like library. The information we can get either in the library or in the internet are very useful in our everyday lives. Both IT and library is a collection of useful materials for our common use.

Telephone

Information Technology (IT) is just like telephone.” Telephone is a telecommunication device that transmits and receives sounds , most commonly the human voice ”. It is used as communication system to allow two separated people by large distance talk to each other. Communicating to different people are widely use in IT even in the other country. Billions of people are using emails and other websites such as facebook, friendster, and tweeter through chatting and sending emails for an instantaneous response. You can’t only hear their voices but also you can see their feces through webcam.

Airplane

Information Technology (IT) is just like an airplane.” Airplane is used to travel around the world. But you can also do that in the used of information technology”. You can visit many websites and in just a click a place where you want to see would welcome you. You will be a tripper in front of the monitor. You can explore and tour around the world with the use of IT.

From the things listed above, I learn and understand more about Information Technology (IT). I can say that IT can be use whenever, wherever and whatever. But this will just be utilized with the manipulation of our mind and hand. So we must also be responsible in using computers. Being a user we can act different role in Information Technology. We can be a plumber, electrician, rider, traveler, reader, printer, caller and receiver, voyager and pilot and many more. IT is really a dead-end job. There are still so many things to discover about it. Even though I’m just a neophyte in this kind of field, I still find it adventurous and courageous to explore. I’m sure IT is a continuous learning because our world is fast changing in terms of technology.
